Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to V for Vocab: Learn Vocab Daily (com.vocabdaily.app), published by Semsso.
V for Vocab helps users learn vocabulary through daily words, review queues, favorites, reminders, pronunciation, and optional premium features.
Information We Collect
We do not require users to create an account, log in, or provide a name, phone number, or profile to use the main learning features.
The app stores learning data locally on your device, such as:
- daily word progress;
- favorite words;
- known words;
- review queue choices;
- daily goal, reminder time, topic, level, and other learning preferences.
If you choose the optional Premium Cloud Backup feature, you sign in with Google on Android or Apple on iOS so we can confirm the backup belongs to you. Google or Apple is used only as the sign-in provider. Your learning backup is stored securely by V for Vocab, not in Google Drive or iCloud Drive.
Cloud Backup may store:
- your Google account email or Apple account email/private relay email and Firebase user ID;
- compact learning progress, such as word IDs, learned/practice/mastered status, counts, quiz cycle status, and timestamps;
- app learning settings, such as daily goal, selected topics, reminder settings, theme, and favorites.
We do not upload dictionary definitions, examples, synonyms, pronunciation text, or the full word catalog as part of your personal backup.
Purchases and Premium Features
If you buy a premium subscription, the purchase is processed by Google Play Billing on Android or Apple App Store in-app purchase on iOS. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and unlock premium features. RevenueCat may process purchase-related information such as subscription status, product identifiers, transaction receipts, app user identifiers, device platform, and app version. This is used to manage entitlements, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and support subscriptions.

Notifications
If you enable reminders, the app asks for notification permission and schedules local daily reminders on your device. Reminder settings are stored locally. The app may use your device timezone to schedule reminders at the correct local time.
Pronunciation and Text-to-Speech
The app uses your device's text-to-speech system to pronounce vocabulary words. The requested word may be passed to the text-to-speech engine installed on your device. How that engine processes speech requests is controlled by the operating system or the text-to-speech provider.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We share purchase-related information only with service providers needed to operate subscriptions, including Google Play, Apple, and RevenueCat.
If you use Cloud Backup, Google or Apple together with Firebase helps verify your sign-in identity and V for Vocab stores your backup on our private server.
Data Security
Learning progress is stored locally on your device. If you enable Cloud Backup, compact progress data is also stored on V for Vocab servers and tied to your Google or Apple sign-in identity. Purchase validation is handled through Google Play, Apple, and RevenueCat using their secure systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use the limited data practices described in this policy to reduce risk.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local learning data remains on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall the app.
Cloud Backup data is kept while the feature is active and your Premium entitlement remains active. You can delete Cloud Backup from inside the app in Settings. This removes your cloud backup data from V for Vocab servers while keeping learning progress that is already saved on your device. If Premium expires, is refunded, or is revoked, cloud backup data may be scheduled for deletion after a short grace period. Removing the app from your device does not automatically delete purchase records held by Google Play, Apple, or RevenueCat.
Purchase and subscription records may be retained by Google Play, Apple, and RevenueCat as needed for billing, entitlement management, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and support.

Children's Privacy
V for Vocab is intended for general vocabulary learners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes, such as adding new features, analytics, ads, account sync, or additional online services. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
